Ultra-Low Dose Intrauterine Contraceptive System Study

The Clinical Research Center at Eastern Virginia Medical School is looking for generally healthy women ages 18-35 years old who would like to participate in a clinical research trial of an investigational birth control device. Vaginal Ring Birth Control

Looking for a different method of birth control? Tired of trying to remember a pill every day?

The Clinical Research Center at EVMS is looking for healthy women ages 18 to 39 to participate in a clinical trial of a contraceptive vaginal ring. The study will look at how well the ring prevents pregnancy and whether or not it helps in controlling menstrual cycle bleeding.

Participants must have regular menstrual cycles and must weigh less than 209 pounds.


Menopausal Studies


Angeliq Hot Flash Study

If you suffer from frequent moderate to severe hot flashes, you may qualify to be in a clinical research trial of an investigational medication for hot flashes. You may qualify to participate if:

  • You’re at least 40 years old
  • You have not had a period for at least a year
  • Your hot flashes are frequent and moderate to severe

Study includes women with or without a uterus.
 


Women's Health Studies


Period Missing? Prometrium® Study Available

The Clinical Research Center at EVMS is currently conducting a clinical research trial using Prometrium® to regulate vaginal bleeding.

If you are a generally healthy woman between the ages of 18 and 45, and have missed at least three out of your last six menstrual cycles, then you may qualify to participate in this clinical research trial.

Qualified study participants receive:

  • All study-related medical visits and exams
  • All study medication
  • Pap smear
  • Mammogram
  • Financial compensation

Other Studies

Duramed IVF Study

Are you or is someone you know trying to get pregnant and in need of IVF?  The Jones Institute at Eastern Virginia Medical School is conducting a clinical research trial of an investigational medicine for women ages 18-42 who desire pregnancy.  Study participants must be planning to have an IVF procedure, just meet all study requirements and must be willing and able to complete all study visits.  Participants receive, at no cost, study medication, study-related visits and exams and partial reimbursement for their related IVF procedure.
